PSDP’s fifty-fifty raffle

In the PSDP convention meeting room, a woman excitedly holds up two personalized towels she won in a raffle as a white Standard Poodle and a wheelchair user with a small service dog watch her.

Winner 5/4/25: Tamara F. (ticket #7 of #2–142; $285 won)

Thanks to all the participants for supporting PSDP!

Half to the winner, half to PSDP—we’re hosting a fifty-fifty charity raffle for our community!

• Raffle tickets cost $5 each, or 5 tickets for $20.

• Ticket sales open Friday, May 2nd (2025) at 2:00 p.m. PT/5:00 p.m. ET and sales close Sunday, May 4th at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET. Sales may close early if we reach the $950 cap; ticket purchase attempts after that cap is reached would be refundable donations, not ticket purchases.

• The first name and last initial of the winner will be announced here on this webpage on the night of Sunday, May 4th.

Maximum ticket sales will be capped at $950 total, meaning the maximum prize is $425. The actual prize amount depends on the total number of tickets purchased. Tickets purchased are generally not considered tax-deductible donations, since you are purchasing a chance to win a prize.

TICKET PURCHASES ARE ONLY VALID IF MADE BETWEEN FRIDAY, MAY 2ND AT 2:00 P.M. PT/5 P.M. ET AND SUNDAY, MAY 4TH AT 5:30 P.M. PT/8:30 P.M. ET. Tickets purchased outside this window will be considered donations.

To purchase raffle tickets when sales are open, use the PayPal link below (you can use a credit card without a PayPal account). Be sure to either (1) use a PayPal account with current contact info, (2) provide your email or phone number in a transaction note to PSDP, or (3) contact us on the day of your purchase to provide your contact info. Details and conditions are below. If we do not have your contact info, you will not be able to win!

This is a community event where we want a good number of our community members to join in, not just a few. In PSDP’s sole discretion, we reserve the right to convert into a regular donation a portion of any relatively large purchase of tickets by a party. Similarly, we reserve the right to refuse any purchases that to us signal a potential gambling problem.

PSDP recognizes that many members of our community are on public benefits. We make no representation about how winning a prize may affect those benefits. PSDP does not award an amount that we would normally be required to report to any government agency. We are willing to work with the winner on the means of payout, whether it is by bank check made out to the party of the winner’s choosing, PayPal payment, or possibly the payment of a bill.

Details and conditions

In addition to the previous terms set forth above, the following details and conditions apply. By purchasing a ticket for the raffle from Psychiatric Service Dog Partners (“PSDP”), you agree to the foregoing and following.

A raffle ticket purchase is not a donation and is not tax-deductible. While this is a fundraiser for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the fair market value of your raffle ticket purchase is the same as the value of your chance of winning. The chance of winning per ticket depends on the number of tickets purchased.

There are no refunds, except in the case that the raffle is canceled in its entirety. If the raffle is canceled, purchasers will be entitled to either a full refund of all tickets purchased (minus any transaction fees) or may choose to have their purchase become a donation.

PSDP will assign each purchased ticket a ticket number and will use a random number generator to pick winners.

PSDP anticipates contacting any winner on the day of selection. Winners will have up to 48 hours to begin the prize claim process after an agent of PSDP contacts the email address or phone number associated with the purchasing PayPal account or transaction. If PSDP does not receive a clear and valid response from the purchaser within that 48 hours, the win will be void and PSDP will move on to the next winner.

Purchasers are responsible for ensuring that either their current contact information (email address or phone number) is associated with the transaction through PayPal, or that they include their contact information in a note attached to the transaction, or that they contact PSDP through our contact form on the day of the transaction to give PSDP their contact information.

PSDP reserves the sole and exclusive right to mitigate any attempt to subvert or overwhelm the process in this raffle, in any manner PSDP deems appropriate.

PSDP reserves the right to use winners’ first name and last initial publicly in connection with PSDP raffles or promotions.

This raffle is restricted to our members and their guests. We do not define this, but leave this to self-selection.

The nonprofit organization sponsoring this raffle event is Psychiatric Service Dog Partners. The charitable purpose for which the net receipts shall be used are to promote the mental health of people using service dogs for psychiatric disabilities by educating, advocating, providing expertise, facilitating peer support, and promoting responsible service dog training and handling. Fifty percent of the gross receipts of fifty-fifty raffles conducted by this nonprofit organization in the most recent two years in which the nonprofit organization conducted fifty-fifty raffles are not applied to charitable purposes (50% goes to the winner). None of the gross receipts of donation-based raffles conducted by this nonprofit organization in the most recent two years in which the nonprofit organization conducted donation-based raffles are not applied to charitable purposes (all gross receipts are applied to charitable purposes).
